Вот оно - расписание на Robustfest 2011, и мы будем стараться всё сделать вовремя )
Places to stay :
If you're travelling from another City or even Country - this links can be useful for you :
Ежели Вы, счастливчик, прибыли из другого города/села/страны, возможно будет полезно перейти по следующим линкам :
Parking Lots :
If you're going by the car it's better to leave it on Frunze str. near the No. 69 on the sidewalk. This is almost uninhabited industrial place and it' safe to park a car there. But if you have Rolce Royce Phantom - you'd better thinking of coming by metro and having some beers at the fest)
Greeting from beyond! We're happy to present you the poster and to announce the last band.
- КАМНИ is an outfit from Russia which has quickly formed a large fan-base worldwide playing their heavy psychedelic tunes. They have released a new EP called A.T.O.M. lately which, in my opinion, is one of the greatest releases of this year. If you haven't heard of this band you should fix it. Go to their bandcamp, or listen to Shiva THC from A.T.O.M. right now.
The easiest way to reach "Kuznya" is to get to "Tarasa Shevchenko" metro station, then take a 7-10 min walk till you reach Frunze str., 69
then you will follow the special signs and finally get the hidden place.
You can also ride any Bus (№219, №587, №451) or Tram (№12, № 19) that goes through Frunze str. You can Freely catch any of them near "Kontraktova Plosha" Metro station. Ride till bus/tram stop "Zavod Farmak" .
Here you can find some cheap taxi numbers here and here.
the map-scheme is attached below.
more news to follow...stay stoned!
For robustfellows only...or not for the weak souls.
Hail Sweden. Here's the 2nd coming of heavy tuned, stoned as hell and sentenced to doom three-headed dragon. Greatest album, that I havn't heard for a long time. This one goes well for the long long riding. Bad roads surrounds you. You should hold motorcycle's handlebars. and keep on going through the night.
Partly reminds me the doomy days of Orange goblin career (Scorpionica/Coup de Grace), Don't forget to add some southern sandy grooves.
Hey Ho. The things're going pretty slow with Robustfest. But I hope it will be worth it. So, having a free minute to post some dirty rarities from the smog island...
this video says for the whole thing about their music : dirty/industrial noiserock/sludge. I'm lovin' it. Myspace Web Get album really Cheap on Function Records (£1.99 - cool price for a digi)
Pure Iron Monkey re-incarnation. All the anger, hate, speed and low shit you can find in "Crippledriver". Running less then half an hour it has enough time to eat your brains alive.
First Ep from this London's Sludge/Stoner/Doom/filth outfit. Not common to the other bands in the genre. Due to th emyspace status Widows are gonna hava a fullength album soon called "Death Valley Duchess "
Second update adds two amazing bands! Ladies and gentleman, I'm proud to announce that Bluesbreaker & BOMG will join our festival.
BLUESBREAKER (Ukraine, Kiev)
Hardcore/Blues/Bluescore - Black Sabbath meets Black Flag.
Band mixes the energy of hardcore with the sabbate-sque riffage, creating a perfect sonic potion to enjoy.
Stoned Jesus (Kiev, UA) Going from occult stoner/doom to psychedelic hard rock. After releasing few demos the band outshined with the fullength called "First Communion" on Solitude prod.
After listening to this trio you can honestly say - that's how the real stoner-rock should sound. Keep your ears open for sniff good dose of hellfire doom. Tombstones released their "Volume two" album like half a year ago:
"Volume II" is a 9-song-long manifestation of how heavy rock should sound like in 2010. The album is recorded live and analog, and will kick-start rock-hearts with a weakness for warm and tube-driven distortion. The sound of Tombstones is crushingly massive, suggestive and down-tuned, and has references to the best milestones of heavy-rock through time. The collaboration of Billy Anderson and Audun Strype from the prior album continues and they purify the sound Tombstones has developed as their trademark on "Volume II". Through riffs, sounds, lyrics and mood the fog comes oozing from the dark woods of Norway.
"Volume II" is recorded, produced and mixed by legendary Billy "Engine-Ear" Anderson, known for having produced several of the heaviest quality-rock albums through the last decades. Sleep, Melvins and Cathedral to mention a few. The album is mastered by Audun Strype, one of Norway's best and most recognized sound masters. Known for working with Motorpsycho, Årabrot and SUMA amongst others. One of Norway's heaviest bands, Tombstones, is 3 guys from the woods of eastern Norway, brought up on doomy and heavy groove-rock. The band has played together for over 6 years and has an extensive number of concerts behind them. They have shared stages with Nebula, SUMA, Witchcraft and many more.
Dark Sludge/hc/Doom with its own spirit. TFE members are currently playing in different bands, such as Haw, Stereochrist to name a few. Few days ago they were supporting mighty Eyehategod and Church of Misery. "we are different from the usual „confederate flag stoner" type of bands, and represent a much darker and more bitter direction, we can bring somethng new to the scene "
"The Budapest band Torn From Earth came into being around 2005/6 with Viktor Hatalyák (guitar), Éva Kóczi (guitar) and Balázs Szatmári (bass). Soon after, they were joined by Benedek Hámori (voice) and Tamás Zsákai (drums). In 2008 we released a self tiltled demo/Ep wich was mixed in Viktor's living room. This recieved pretty good rewievs in the more obscure part of the hungarian underground, with its sludgy sound and hardcore leanings. This was followed by gigs mainly in the capital, where we opened for such bands as Spiritus Mortis, Shrinebuilder, Men Eater, Hellshock or Sights & Sounds. In 2011 there were changes with the line up. Éva's place was taken by Attila Hargitai and on the drum front Tomi's place (due to Tomi being really busy) was taken by Gáspár Binder (Haw, Prosectura, Stereochrist, ex-Vostok Room), and the bass position is now in the hand of another old friend, Ödön Sultz (Harvester, ex–Vostok Room). With this new blood infusion came new power, the number of gigs increased, we will soon record our second material and are practicing ferociously."
Prepare yourself for the debut performance of these shamanic blues brothers. Get ready for some pleasent surprises on the merch and special show.
"Ethereal Riffian was formed in summer of 2010. After spending several years trying different musical styles, they found sonic vibrations which sounded close to their collective consciousness. Debut work of Ethereal Riffian - "Shaman's Visions" is the result of thier long search. Eclectic music forged by the band combines hypnotic grooves and heaviness of stoner/doom, shades of mind-bending psychedelia, blasts of ground-breaking rock & metal, and a mixture of experiments, which, at first sight, seem to be unmixable. Join them if you're ready for intermediation between two worlds."
Someone loves this experiment, someone not. 2 great songs from 3 last Boris's albums mixed in one video. Hope appears on "New Album" and also fom the jap-pop release "Attention Please" and the heavy part of Riot Sugar is borrowed from "Heavy Rocks pt.2"
Really wonderful beast with the nice cover. French quartet Denizen delivers heavy hardcore-stoned grooves on their debut album "Whispering Wild Stories". Start playin' the first song and you'll begin headbanging, showing goat sign with your fingers to the ceiling and doing a hardcore-mosh moves at the same time. Damn. That goes really, really great. By energy It reminds me early Clutch "Impetus" or "S/T" era. Big News No. III, heh? And the sound goes deep to mid 90's and compares to all great soned Man's Ruin bands (ATP,Aunt Worm, Tree, The Action Suits or even Fuckemos) Just the perfect mix of punk and rock that I havn't heard since the Cower "Land Before time". At the end of the Album you'll find catchy Cream cover on "Sunshine of your Love"/sounds killer.
Big stoned thanx to Collin for sending a CD. Support the band and buy CD's on Denizen's Bandcamp page http://jimbobisaac.wordpress.com/ (Great artist who made the cover for this album, you'll find some famous stuff there)
