It's all about the riffs...

Let me introduce you Tooting Bizarre. The community of friendly people from the UK.

So. the band says for themselves :

It's all about the riffs; pure rhythm and sensitive musicianship can make for interesting and engaging music without the need for catchy melodies and lyrics. The duo's sound has roots in stoner (Kyuss, Clutch), metal (Mastodon, Melvins) and prog (Lightning Bolt, Oxes) but is a culmination of all 3, plus more rocking out. The idea for 50ft Panda was to strip back to the basic formula of a rock song: the riff, the beat and that fucking hench grunt of a sound. Tom plays riffs on a low tuned guitar through a massive bass cab and Chris plays drum rhythms that fit them. Call it math, call it prog, call it stoner, they don't care as long as it rocks. Hard. Formed in late 2006, 50ft Panda have been writing and performing continuously, resulting in a self titled EP, a recent 4 track EP, a track on the BBC Radio Oxford compilation A Quantum of Covers and many noise-drenched gigs in London and Oxford.

Too Psychedelic to be rock. Mostly instrumental stuff. But it delivers the great space doom.

...And now to the core. Ohaio have a strong Stoner rock scene these days. Thunderrider comes from that area. they've released a s/t CD like a year ago. Groovy tunes in the name of SWS, ATP, Orange Goblin, The Mighty Nimbus(The Georgian Skull), Mister Bones, Halfway 2 Gone.

Staccionata (Italy) -2010 - ECCE!

I'm one of the singer of Staccionata, an italian band ( www.myspace.com/staccionata ). We play an experimental psychedelic stoner-doom/hardcore, with some krautrock and some post-something....?
In the last days we recorded our first full lenght " ECCE! ", in the " locomotore studio " of Rome (Ufomammut and Lento recording there), and this is the link to download

the song Solitarie personally made my morning.

Romero's Jeffrey Mundt spent most of the 90's behind the drum kit for a variety of bands including Bovine Records' THUG & punk legends, NAKED AGGRESSION. A long-time guitar player & songwriter, he often dabbled in fronting a band, but never pursued it seriously. Enter: a move to northern WI, a random Craigslist ad from bass player Josh Stanchik, a casual 8 month writing and recording session (with Mundt handling vocals, guitar & drums!) & Romero was born! Intent on creating a demo to locate & convince a drummer to work with them, Mundt & Stanchik were about a month from completion when... a drummer found them! Rumors of the project peaked the interest of PONEY drummer & vocalist Ben Brooks and he gleefully volunteered before even hearing a single note. Good thing he eventually liked what he heard!

ROMERO started playing live immediately. Very often. First, locally...then regionally...now, nation-wide! They have already shared the stage with the likes of Jucifer, Weedeater, Clutch, Black Label Society and other dyed-in-the-wool heavyweights.

ROMERO spreads like a weed.

Hese guys are from Ottawa, Canada. they have balls and monobrows. Plays catchy as hug instrumental stoned jams. Don't want to call any bands that sounds similar cos Monobrow has it's own face in music.

Flying Frog

Frogwings began as an Allman Brothers/Aquarium Rescue Unit side project in 1997, with Edwin McCain as the lead singer. The band ran off five gigs in seven days in late May 1997, and the jazz/rock/calypso/metal fusion began. Founding members Butch Trucks [drums] and Jimmy Herring [guitar] were joined by the Burbridge brothers, Kofi [flute] and Oteil [bass], as well as Butch's nephew Derek [guitar/, and band and percussion-mate Marc Quinones. The successful May run was followed by a two-week trip up and down the East coast in December, and this run cemented Frogwings as a permanent part of the Allman Brothers Band sideshow.
