Biche - 2013 - Biche

The band comes from  Reims, France.

Actually it's a duo.

Biche is the french for a doe.

  Biche was formed in march 2012 by two ex-members of a stoner/garage band.

Musiclly it's heavy and loud metal.

Harsh vocals clearly illustrates what you see at the front cover.

Mindblowing mix of sludge, noiserock and some melodic parts.

The band says that they get some inspiraion from such acts as :

Dark Castle, Mares of Thrace, Eagle Twin...

I can also add a little bit of 16 and Unsane touch.

Good start guys.

I wish you to have more practice by playing at the rehearsals and live gigs as well.

And one day you'll find you own sound.

Baxter Stockman - 2013 - Punter LP/CD (Review)



 

 

First time I saw the band named Baxter Stockman on some hardcore gig poster few years ago...

They should play some cool powerviolence from the West coast. That's what thought first.

 

But nope, the things turned another way...

Baxter Stockman is awesome noiserock band from Finland. They did few CD-EPs, 1 single 7 inch "Romance". And "Punter" is their first fullength record.

 

Baxter Stockman is the the name of the creepy character from the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" cartoon series who was one third fly, one third machine, one third human. 

 

 

 

 

Usually song starts with the simplest minimalistic riff made by one move of a pick. Following atmosphere going with the same tempo but becomes more complicated.

With the minimalistic sound BxSx achieves raw and aggressive neandertal effect.

That's about the sound. Damn, I really love that wonderful feeling when you invent time machine and go back to early 90s' to catch the pure era of ugliness.

Their music comes right that way.

Castravalva - 2012 - You're Not In Hell. You're in Purgatory My Friend 12'' Review

Castrovalva is a super awesome trio from Leeds, UK.

They have done one mini-album, one big, one single, and two waxy splits.

This hot cake curiously named "You're Not In Hell. You're in Purgatory My Friend" was cooked in three different ovens : cd, green vinyl and orange tape.

Fabulously epic, Instantly classic, Futuristic noise tunes....yes, you will read such a crap from the pages of some expensive modern metal magazine soon...

It's really hard-to-describe the perfect mix that makes my ears cum. But I should try.

These guys should have studied in one class with Mars Volta and Fantomas on the noiserock, 90's rapcore and dubstep departments.

Don't be a pussy. Listen to this & you don't want it to stop.

PS. I really like how the "A Vultures Eyes " ends.

Raw and minimalistic, fat and ugly, heavy as a 16 ton guerilla. This is Debut full lenght of BLOOMING LATIGO from Sevilla/Spain (with members of Orthodox and Mademoiselle). 
Sometimess it goes for Melvins, sometomes for Big Bizz, some for Jesus Lizard. By the energy and destructive voice I can compare 'em to the modern UK dirt-rockers The Good Wife and Dietpills.

Romero's Jeffrey Mundt spent most of the 90's behind the drum kit for a variety of bands including Bovine Records' THUG & punk legends, NAKED AGGRESSION. A long-time guitar player & songwriter, he often dabbled in fronting a band, but never pursued it seriously. Enter: a move to northern WI, a random Craigslist ad from bass player Josh Stanchik, a casual 8 month writing and recording session (with Mundt handling vocals, guitar & drums!) & Romero was born! Intent on creating a demo to locate & convince a drummer to work with them, Mundt & Stanchik were about a month from completion when... a drummer found them! Rumors of the project peaked the interest of PONEY drummer & vocalist Ben Brooks and he gleefully volunteered before even hearing a single note. Good thing he eventually liked what he heard!

ROMERO started playing live immediately. Very often. First, locally...then regionally...now, nation-wide! They have already shared the stage with the likes of Jucifer, Weedeater, Clutch, Black Label Society and other dyed-in-the-wool heavyweights.

ROMERO spreads like a weed.
